The problem

Most online tile calculators are a single form: area in, number out. That breaks the moment it meets a real job. Floor and wall use different tile sizes but get blended into one figure. Box counts vary by manufacturer, so dividing by four is often wrong. Adhesive coverage depends on tile size and trowel notch. Grout has an actual formula. Guess any of these and somebody pays for the correction.

What we built

Tile Calc is a web-based tile and material estimator. A guided flow — describe the project, list the rooms, choose tile sizes and materials — returns a room-by-room breakdown of exactly how many tiles, boxes, bags of adhesive and kilograms of grout the job needs, with floor and wall calculated separately.

It does the real arithmetic rather than a blended estimate. The tile catalogue holds 34 sizes taken from actual supplier packaging data — from 75×225mm mosaics up to 800×3000mm slabs — so box counts are the manufacturer’s, not a round number. Adhesive coverage follows real coverage tables by tile size and adhesive type. Grout uses the proper formula across tile size, joint width and joint depth.

It is built for real project complexity: multiple rooms, room-type grouping with per-room override, and openings entered individually so a room with two differently sized windows gets an accurate wall-area deduction.

Registration is verified by WhatsApp OTP, which means every completed estimate carries a real, reachable mobile number — useful for anyone connecting buyers to dealers. Each estimate also gets a short shareable code so a customer can reopen and update it later without an account.
